Description

CHROMADI is an arcade-inspired video game where you mix and match colours to take out enemies and protect the RAINBAR (rainbow + health bar) from running dry. The name blends "chrome" (colour) and "adi," which means "to hit" in Tamil—because you’ll be fusing your primary colours to unleash your attacks and blast your enemies! Along the way, you’ll learn a thing or two about colour theory in this super fun adventure. Your goal? Keep playing, chase those high scores, and master your colour combos!

History

With CHROMADI, Kleanup Games is diving back into the foundation of how video games were made before. We’re here to bring back that nostalgia and the sheer joy of playing classic shoot-'em-ups with a modern take on this genre. The game is all about the simple fun of chasing high scores and bringing back the essence of competition that makes games so exciting.

CHROMADI was initially intended to be a very simple, small-scale project but with mechanics supporting an endlessly playable gameplay loop. So what ideally began as a modest production quickly evolved, as early playtests revealed how much our friends enjoyed its core concept which sort of inspired further development.

As the project grew, we sought out to add custom assets for sound and music which led to the collaboration with DARKGRAY, a college buddy and music producer. As someone who shares a deep love for video games, DARKGRAY went on to create a soundtrack that evokes the iconic feel of classic games like Mario and Tetris. His work on the OST set the atmosphere for the game, blending seamlessly with its vision.
