CHROMADI is an fast paced color mixing retro arcade shooter where you mix and match colors and blast your way through waves of Chromies. Play as the Hue-Men to defend the Rainbar and restore color to the fading planet of Chromara!
With CHROMADI, Kleanup Games is diving back into the foundation of how video games were made before. We’re here to bring back that nostalgia and the sheer joy of playing classic shoot-'em-ups with a modern take on this genre. Inspired by games like PacMan, Tetris, CHROMADI is all about the simple fun of chasing high scores and bringing back the essence of competition that makes games so exciting.
CHROMADI was initially intended to be a very simple, small-scale project but with mechanics supporting an endlessly playable gameplay loop. So what ideally began as a modest production quickly evolved, as early playtests revealed how much our friends enjoyed its core concept which sort of inspired further development.
As the project grew, we sought out to add custom assets for sound and music which led to the collaboration with DARKGRAY, a college buddy and music producer. As someone who shares a deep love for video games, DARKGRAY went on to create a soundtrack that evokes the iconic feel of classic games like Mario and Tetris. His work on the OST set the atmosphere for the game, blending seamlessly with its vision.
